Eastwick, really? Did you have to do it?

EDIT: So Eastwick is cancelled, I guess this is a goodbye Chad and goodbye Eastwick blog now. Hopefully I didn’t jinx it.

Eastwick is one of my new favourite shows this season (as you can see by its special place next to Gossip Girl up there somewhere ^). It’s definitely not Emmy-worthy –  if that’s your thing, you really shouldn’t bother. See, the thing about Eastwick is, it’s fun and laidback. Three women, special powers, sexy, mysterious man etc etc. Even then, there isn’t a different evil plaguing the town every episode. Instead, everything is unravelling slowly, while I get to feast my eyes on the likes of Matt Dallas’ character, the Johnny Depp lookalike, and Daryl Van Horne. Ya, I’m not the best with names on new shows.

Anyway, my point is, it’s a nice change of pace from shows like Grey’s Anatomy and House, where the recent M.O. has been killing off beloved, innocent characters because there’s nothing else left to do. If it’s not killing, then it’s handing out cancer diagnoses. I honestly can’t handle that kind of thing anymore, it’s gotten way too traumatic. TV is supposed to be my escape!

So you can understand my dismay and anger when my favourite character had to be killed off! Really? Really? Matt Dallas? Not Matt Dallas! Ok, Chad. Matt Dallas is still alive. Chad, however, isn’t. I saw it coming. I saw it coming and I kept willing it not to happen, but then before I knew it, there was Chad, getting killed by a giant Daryl Van Horne statue. So here’s to Chad. We’re going to miss you kid.

Matt Dallas

I’m still alive but I’m barely breathing

Short post, but I’ve had The Script’s The Script on repeat for weeks, its an amazing album. I just heard Breakeven on the radio, which is newish, in Canada anyway, so listen! You’ll love it. Oh – added bonus, the lead singer, Danny O’Donoghue, is ridiculously cute.

So Gossip Girl this season… good/bad/meh?

I’ll start with things I love so far this season.

Gossip Girl, Things I Love

  1. Chuck and Blair. Finally, we get Chuck and Blair, after two seasons of dangling it in our faces, we finally get it. And all of it. Too much of it even. Every Chuck and Blair scene feels like a gift from the Gossip Girl gods, almost too good to be true. I say almost because of Blair. Really? Why? What’s wrong with Blair? See the list further down for clarification.
  2. Chuck kisses a boy, onscreen. Come on! How was that not one of the best scenes on television in the past twenty years? Exaggeration? Maybe a little. But I for one watched it over and over and over again. I don’t know why you didn’t do the same. I want to hear more about the other boys Chuck’s kissed! In related news, there’s a promised threesome. This may or may not make it to this list, we’ll see.
  3. Carter, and only because I can never deny Sebastian Stan! Even he seems to have disappeared for now though. Fangirls everywhere pray for his return. What am I doing mentioning praying two blogs in a row? Worst atheist ever. Anyway… on to #4!
  4. Oh wait… there isn’t a fourth. What a shame.

As for things I can’t stand this season…

Gossip Girl

  1. Hilary Duff. I’m sorry, but WHAT IS HILARY DUFF DOING ON MY GOSSIP GIRL?! I realize your ratings suck Gossip Girl. I realize Hilary will draw in viewers. But did it have to be Hilary? Really? One day you were thinking hmm… who should join the likes of Blair Waldorf and Georgina Sparks? LIZZIE MCGUIRE! Did that thought process really happen? In all fairness, I will concede that she is SLOWLY growing on me. You can’t make me like the idea though.
  2. Tyra Banks. Wow. This was my biggest wtf moment so far this season. I cringed every time Tyra came on screen. You know when your mom tries to get to know your friends and just wants to be young again? Ya. That should never have happened on Gossip Girl. Especially with Tyra Banks.
  3. Privileged/Reba girl whose name I can’t be bothered to Google or IMDB right now. She played Nate’s love interest, you remember her. So I admit, I did watch every episode of Privileged. I liked it. It was alright. But again, to add her to Gossip Girl? Really? No.
  4. Nate. Where is Nate? Is he slowly being written off the show? Why isn’t he associating with the rest of the group? I feel like he has his own spin-off or something and sometimes crosses over to say hi to Chuck or Serena. I miss Chuck, Blair, Nate, Serena, and occasionally Dan all together. New additions to the cast are ruining that whole dynamic.
  5. SCOTT. Scott! First of all, whoever plays him can barely act. Second, I was over the whole Lily/Rufus lovechild thing before it even started. Let’s just pretend it never happened Gossip Girl.
  6. Blair. Where’s Queen B from previous seasons? I hate to say this because I LOVE Blair, but this season’s Blair is shrill and annoying. She’s bearable when Chuck is there, but even then, its getting a little hard to watch her scenes. I don’t know if it’s Leighton’s acting or the script, but something has to change!

I don’t know if all that bad can outweigh the good, but either way, I’m going to be watching, I mean… it’s Gossip Girl.

FINALLY!

Since buying my first domain a year ago, the site is up! School and a million other things got in the way, but I’m finally done! I’ve edited the layout over and over again and I think I’m finally satisfied with it. We’ll see how blogging goes, it definitely requires a longer attention span than Tumblr, so pray for me guys. Okay, praying might be a little intense, so just send good vibes my way! Look forward to random posts on Chuck Bass or rants about school/work. I’ll try not to disappoint.

It’s 3am and I need sleep, so that’s it for now!
