Just so you guys know, I was debating between this title and “You’ve lost your muchness”, in the end I chose Gossip Girl over Alice in Wonderland, even though Gossip Girl doesn’t deserve shit from me right now.
Did that sound bitter? I’m not bitter. I’m not disappointed. Gossip Girl has completely lived up to expectations. Season 2 and 3 have been just as brilliant as Season 1. Jenny is my favourite character. They’re totally employing Kevin Zegers’ full potential and not making me dislike him. Dan and Vanessa are a match made in heaven, not to mention, Dan looks ravishing in a wife beater. Chace Crawford deserves an Emmy for his acting. I love how he much he’s learned and grown as an actor. Blair is totally back to Queen B status and I love it. Chuck’s storyline does him so much justice. And his mom is so cool, I want to be her when I grow up. Serena is totally not a whore and I want to model my life after hers. Rufus is the best husband ever, I’d be lucky to meet a man half as epic as he is.
Moving on.
I saw Alice in Wonderland this week. With my two siblings, AND my two little cousins. It was such a family affair. 3D glasses are great for photo-ops aren’t they? Sara is totally rocking a jean jacket by the way, AND polka dot pants. Bold. Very bold.
As for the movie, I really enjoyed it. I think it helped that I went in with low expectations. I really liked all of the characters, especially the Hatter and Red Queen, obviously. Who else sensed a ton of sexual tension between Alice and Mad Hatter? I was dying for them to just jump on top of each other or something… And the scene at the end with the Hatter was heartbreaking, poor guy. I also enjoyed the White Queen’s constant hand gestures. Very convincing. Some really great lines as well, aside from losing your muchness – imagining six impossible things before breakfast, “I’m investigating things that begin with the letter M”, and of course “You’re mad, bonkers, off your head! But I’ll tell you a secret: All the best people are.” Really sweet.
I’ve heard people saying Johnny Depp’s dancing at the end was awkward and out of place, but I loved it! Futterwagoning for the win. Am I right or am I right?

As you know, I am the first top notch supporter when it comes to Johnny Depp (who was perfectly fabulous) and Tim Burton. But Alice was a big fucking letdown, I liked the movie, I really quite liked it, but I didn’t love it. And I felt all those “great lines” were incredibly contrived, at least all the ones that come out of Alice’s mouth. Red Queen, Hatter & White Queen (Anne Hathaway was great!) FTW. Next time, I’ll bring my low expectations with me.
Sara looks pretty fuckin hipster chic, very Agyness Deyn, I like. She can be the first to sport 3D glasses as a fashion trend.
I’ve been adoring Gossip Girl! Right there with you. This is the best season by far, totally worth the hiatus. And Dan in a wifebeater, with his body hair peeking out, and potbelly? HELL YES. Him and Vanessa awkward and in love together? GIVE ME MORE. Ziggy’s lovely tan and ridiculous plot line? RIDICULOUSLY GOOD. And don’t even get me started on Jenny. That bitch is the rightful queen, I know her and I would be BFF’s for life. Blair and Chuck FTW, though, they just get better and better with age. Totally not shrill and cliche. Love it.
6 days later, my bad. You’re not an Alice fan?!? Why? I really liked her! We totally came out with different views on something for once lol. Agreed on the Agyness Deyn, spot on. Ziggyness, GG, etc, agrred!
i haven’t seen the movie yet, but i want to… soon!
i love jhonny depp. i love him as jack sparrow lol
i have to watch the latest gossip girl episodes. i haven’t ssen any since before christmas :(
okay my comment is going to look short and dump after that looong essay above mine lol
LOL, no worries, canadawhore up there just likes to write essays. Yes on the Depp, go watch if you haven’t already!
Oh my goodness this movie LOL. I was so totally waiting for the Hatter and Alice to share a really awkward kiss, I would have so been into that! I’m actually kind of bummed it didn’t happen. My heart melted at the end where the Hatter was like “…You could stay here!” and Alice … didn’t. :( Way to go, you could have had the most amazing man in the world.
I’m still trying to get the Futterwagon down pat. My friend and I are on a mission to perfect this thing LOL. It doesn’t help that we’re total geeks for the Hatter in the first place!
I would have been really into that too! It would have been my favourite movie of the year if they’d went in that direction haha. Totally agreed, my heart melted at the same point.
Gosh, I haven’t watched Gossip Girl since the new episodes started airing again this year! I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic or not in your paragraph about each of the GG characters, but Season 3 has been a total BLAH for me. I LOVED season 1, season 2 was decent, and season 3 was there because well, I have to find out what happens next. -_-
I’ve yet to watch Alice though :( My friends won’t watch it with me because it seems to whack to them -__-
Haha, ya, I’m being sarcastic! I totally agree with you, BLAH is the right word. But I’m tied to that show, even if it gets 20x worse, I’ll still be watching.
And go watch it yourself! Why not? You can always wait till a screener/dvdrip comes out though… not that I’m condoning that here or anything… cough cough.
